A man has been shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, according to authorities, in what is now the third fatal encounter involving federal immigration officers in the city this month. The incident has triggered protests, political backlash, and renewed scrutiny of federal operations in Minnesota.

Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey said "A great American city is being invaded by its own federal government," at a press conference earlier today.

The shooting happened on Saturday morning near Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street in south Minneapolis. Video shared on social media appears to show several federal agents struggling with a man on a snow‑covered street before shots were fired. Officials say the man was armed with a handgun and carrying two magazines at the time of the confrontation.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz condemned the incident, calling it “horrific” and demanding an immediate halt to the federal immigration enforcement operation currently underway in the state. Walz said he has spoken with the White House and urged the administration to withdraw what he described as “thousands of violent, untrained officers” deployed in Minnesota.

Crowds gathered at the scene shortly after the shooting, where tensions escalated between federal agents and protesters. Witnesses reported the use of chemical irritants as officers attempted to secure the area.

Authorities have confirmed the man’s death, though his identity has not yet been released. Federal officials say the shooting is under investigation.

This is a developing story. JAM Radio UK will provide updates as more information becomes available.
