Armed Police Operation in Tipton Following Reports of Man with Weapon
Tipton, West Midlands – Friday, March 7 - Armed officers from the West Midlands Police firearms unit conducted an operation this afternoon in response to reports of a man with a weapon. The operation took place at an address in the Princes End area of Tipton at approximately 1:20 PM.
Both marked and unmarked Police vehicles lined Tipton High Steet near the address before officers sprang into action. Footage caught by a citizen journalist shows the shocking moment when armed officers apprehended the suspect.
Images from the scene show armed officers approaching an address in the area. During the operation, a man and a woman were initially arrested. However, the woman was later released, while the man remained in police custody at the time of writing.
West Midland Police have yet to make an official comment at the time of writing and have not release any details about operation or the nature of the suspected weapon or the circumstances leading to the arrests.
